IO and Mixed Signal Layout Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design full-custom I/O libraries and analog mixed-signal IP layouts in planar and FinFET process technologies. Work within the physical/layout team to drive floor-planning, layout implementation, verification, and handoff for IP and chip-level interfaces.

Responsible for end-to-end ownership of layout deliverables, coordinating with circuit designers and cross-site teams to meet performance, quality, and schedule targets.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design full-custom layouts for I/O libraries and analog mixed-signal IP in planar and FinFET nodes.
• Drive floor-planning and placement decisions to meet routing, pitch, and performance requirements.
• Perform comprehensive layout verification and debugging to ensure design compliance and manufacturability.
• Manage end-to-end deliverables, meeting quality and schedule targets.
• Collaborate with circuit designers and remote teams; train and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Hands-on experience with I/O library and analog mixed-signal IP development and verification.
• Strong understanding of Planar and FinFET layout rules and process technology.
• Knowledge of full-chip concepts: I/O frame and pitch, power planning, IO segment rules.
• In-depth understanding of ESD and latch-up principles for I/O and analog layouts.
• Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso layout tools and Siemens Calibre verification tools.
• Expertise in layout verification and debugging: DRC, LVS, ANTI/ANT, ERC, DFM, LPE, PERC, EM, IR analysis.
• Familiarity with physical design flow tasks such as LEF generation and interaction with PnR flows.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.
• Nice-to-have: experience with AI/automation in layout, scripting, and SKILL programming.

Education Requirements

B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics / Electrical Engineering. The posting requests approximately 5–8 years of relevant industry experience.
