Job Title
Interposer Automation Engineer
Role Summary
Build and maintain automation flows, tools, and methodologies for advanced interposer (silicon bridge) VLSI design. The role delivers production-quality solutions that validate design rules, construct and analyze interposer layouts, and accelerate designers' workflows.
You will work closely with interposer design engineers, package architects, and foundry partners to solve complex physical-design and packaging problems.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 5+ years of flow and methodology development experience for interposer or VLSI design flows.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing automation and validation infrastructure for interposer design and improving designer productivity.
- Design and implement VLSI flows and methodologies specific to interposer design.
- Develop maintainable tools and applications to enable project engineers and designers.
- Build flows to construct, analyze, and validate interposer layouts across production stages.
- Integrate automation with EDA tooling and foundry delivery flows.
- Optimize and document daily workflows of interposer designers for scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate with package architects, design teams, and foundry partners to resolve physical-design issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.
- 5+ years developing flows and methodologies used at engineering scale for interposer or related VLSI design.
- Proficiency in Python and/or C++; strong programming fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, OOP, code quality).
- Demonstrated use of AI/ML techniques in engineering workflows (e.g., LLMs for code tooling, ML-assisted design analysis, or AI-assisted EDA integrations).
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals relevant to interposer design (signal integrity, power delivery, parasitic extraction).
- Experience producing maintainable, production-grade automation and tools for engineering teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Deep familiarity with VLSI package design, interposer and IC physical design flows.
- Prior experience collaborating with foundries on packaging and interposer delivery requirements.
Education Requirements
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience.
