Job Title

Internship — RF System Validation Engineer (m/f/d)

Role Summary

Hands-on internship role supporting RF system validation for wireless products. You will work with the validation team to set up measurements, execute test plans, analyze RF and system-level results, and document findings.

The role sits within the RF/System Validation team and focuses on practical lab-based testing, data analysis, and collaboration with design and software teams to verify product performance.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Targeted at currently enrolled students or recent graduates with some laboratory or project experience in RF or wireless systems.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities during the internship:

  • Set up and operate RF test equipment (spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes) for system validation.
  • Execute test plans and collect measurement data for RF and wireless system performance.
  • Develop and run automated test scripts for repetitive measurements and data processing.
  • Analyze measurement results, identify issues, and communicate findings to engineers and managers.
  • Document test procedures, results, and create clear reports summarizing observations and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, system architects) to reproduce and debug issues.

Requirements

Minimum technical skills and experience expected for the role.

  • Practical experience in an electronics or RF lab environment (coursework, projects, or prior internships).
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope, network analyzer) — hands-on usage preferred.
  • Basic scripting or programming skills for test automation and data analysis (Python, MATLAB or similar).
  • Understanding of wireless communication fundamentals (modulation, link budget, basic protocol knowledge).
  • Good problem-solving, data analysis, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and follow defined test procedures.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with RF system-level testing, over-the-air (OTA) measurements, or familiarity with relevant wireless standards.
  • Exposure to measurement automation frameworks or version control systems.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical field; or equivalent practical experience from projects or prior internships.
