Job Title

Internship - Analog Mixed-Signal Design

Role Summary

Intern will assist an analog/mixed-signal design team in developing, simulating, and verifying integrated circuits for power and IoT applications. The role focuses on hands-on circuit design, silicon characterization, and scripting to support design automation and data analysis.

This is a student internship working on real project tasks within an engineering team; work contributes to low-power and analog IC products.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for students; no specific professional years of experience required. Suitable for current graduate students (M.S.) in electrical engineering or related fields.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include circuit design, verification, and lab characterization; also automation and team collaboration.

  • Contribute to analog and mixed-signal IC design, simulation, and verification.
  • Design and analyze operational amplifiers; perform stability analysis and compensation.
  • Design low-power circuits such as LDOs and buck converters.
  • Perform silicon characterization and debug to verify performance versus specifications.
  • Develop or use scripting (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell) to automate workflows and analyze data.
  • Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and collaborative problem solving.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and personal attributes for successful contribution.

  • Proficiency in analog IC design, including op-amp theory and low-power design principles.
  • Experience with circuit simulation and verification methodologies.
  • Ability to use scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell) to automate tasks and process data.
  • Practical lab skills for silicon characterization and debugging are desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team, and eagerness to learn.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an M.S. program in Electrical Engineering or a related field; student/intern status required. Posting indicates compensation varies by highest level of education.
