Internship - Analog Mixed-Signal Design
Role Summary
Contribute to the design, simulation, verification and lab characterization of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits. Work with a design team on operational amplifiers, low-power regulators, and silicon bring-up while using scripting to automate workflows and data analysis.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for students; intended as a hands-on training role.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and hands-on silicon testing:
- Contribute to analog and mixed-signal IC design, simulation, and verification.
- Design and analyze operational amplifiers, including stability and compensation techniques.
- Design low-power circuits such as LDOs and buck converters to meet energy targets.
- Perform silicon characterization and debug to verify performance against specifications.
- Develop scripts (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell) to automate design flows and data analysis.
- Participate in design reviews and team collaboration activities.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes for successful performance in the role.
- Proficiency in analog IC design and operational amplifier theory.
- Experience with low-power circuit design principles.
- Practical skills in silicon characterization and debugging.
- Ability to write and use scripts for automation and data analysis (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell).
- Team-oriented, adaptable, eager to learn, with strong communication skills.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in an M.S. program in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
Wage range: $23.50 to $42.50 per hour (hourly rate depends on highest level of education completed).
