Job Title

Internship - Analog Mixed-Signal Design

Role Summary

Intern contributing to analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit (IC) design within the analog design team. Work includes circuit design, simulation, verification, silicon characterization, and automation of design flows.

The role supports development of low-power power-management and analog building blocks and participates in team design reviews and lab debug activities.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Intended for currently enrolled graduate students (internship-level experience).

Responsibilities

Primary technical and team responsibilities for the internship.

  • Contribute to analog and mixed-signal IC design, simulation, and verification.
  • Design and analyze operational amplifiers, perform stability analysis, and implement compensation techniques.
  • Design low-power circuits such as LDOs and buck converters for energy-efficient performance.
  • Perform silicon characterization and lab debug to verify device performance against specifications.
  • Develop and use scripts (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell) to automate workflows and data analysis.
  • Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and team collaboration activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and personal attributes for a successful candidate.

  • Proficiency in analog IC design, including operational amplifier theory and low-power design principles.
  • Practical experience or familiarity with circuit simulation and verification tools (tool names not specified).
  • Ability to use scripting languages to automate design tasks (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Motivation to learn, adaptability to changing challenges, and attention to detail during silicon bring-up and debugging.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an M.S. program in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (student/intern status required). The posting notes hourly pay will depend on highest level of education completed.
