Junior Software Engineer for Automotive Security Firmware

Role Summary

Join the Automotive Processing team to design and implement firmware that controls and executes security and cryptography operations for automotive products. Work on firmware components, tests, and related infrastructure while following automotive software development standards.

This role is hands-on firmware development in an Agile environment with opportunities to learn secure coding and cryptography from experienced technical leaders.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Junior). No explicit years-of-experience stated; typically suitable for candidates at the start of their embedded software career.

Responsibilities

Primary duties focus on developing, testing, and hardening embedded security firmware and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Implement and maintain firmware for security and cryptography operations.
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests for firmware components and infrastructure.
  • Apply secure-coding and code-hardening techniques against attacks.
  • Debug and profile embedded systems; perform scripting and tooling tasks.
  • Follow automotive software development standards and lifecycle tools.
  • Work in Agile teams and collaborate with local and global team members.
  • Support design reviews and defend technical design choices.
  • Perform tasks that may fall under security certification scope; follow secure and reliable work practices.

Requirements
