Internship - Analog Mixed Signal Design
Infineon TechnologiesJob Title
Internship - Analog Mixed Signal Design
Role Summary
Intern will support analog and mixed-signal IP design and verification for power-management SoC components. The role works with analog and digital IC design teams to develop testbenches, run simulations, and perform silicon evaluation.
This is a hands-on internship focused on practical design verification, testbench development, and lab characterization tasks.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship). Suitable for current students or recent graduates; no specific years-of-experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Assist analog and digital design and verification of mixed-signal IP using Cadence tools.
- Develop mixed-signal testbenches and run simulations for multiphase buck controllers, integrated power stages, and voltage regulator designs.
- Perform functional verification using SystemVerilog and UVM methodologies.
- Conduct bench-level silicon evaluation, characterize IC performance, and document results in validation reports.
- Develop constrained-random, scalable, and reusable testbenches for verification.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior analog/digital engineers to improve unit architecture and next-generation IP.
- Use scripting (Python, Unix/Linux shell) to automate simulation and test workflows.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience with Cadence tools for schematic creation, netlist generation, and simulation execution in analog or mixed-signal environments.
- Familiarity with hardware verification languages (SystemVerilog) and UVM for constrained-random testbench development.
- Lab exposure to oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and hardware bring-up for IC characterization.
- Proficiency with Python scripting and Unix/Linux shell commands for automation and simulation support.
- Awareness of communication protocols relevant to testbench/firmware co-verification (PMBus, I2C, UART, SPI).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional engineering teams.
Nice-to-have: experience with power management circuits (multiphase buck controllers, integrated power stages) and prior constrained-random verification projects.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
