Job Title

Internship - Analog Mixed-Signal Design

Role Summary

Infineon is hiring an analog/mixed-signal design intern to contribute to the design, simulation, verification, and silicon characterization of analog integrated circuits. The intern will work within an IC design team on operational amplifiers, low-power blocks (LDOs, buck converters) and related verification and automation tasks.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Intended for students; currently enrolled candidates expected.

Responsibilities

Primary technical responsibilities for this internship include:

  • Contribute to analog and mixed-signal IC design, simulation, and verification.
  • Design and analyze operational amplifiers, including stability analysis and compensation.
  • Design low-power circuits such as LDOs and buck converters for energy-efficient operation.
  • Perform silicon characterization and lab debugging to verify performance against specifications.
  • Automate workflows and data analysis using scripting (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell).
  • Participate in team activities: design reviews, brainstorming, and cross-functional alignment.

Requirements

Key qualifications and skills required or strongly preferred for success in this role.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in analog IC design and low-power design principles; understanding of operational amplifier theory and compensation techniques.
  • Must-have: Experience with scripting for automation or data analysis (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell).
  • Must-have: Ability to perform lab characterization and basic silicon debug procedures.
  • Must-have: Team-oriented, adaptable, eager to learn, and effective communicator.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior project or internship experience in IC design or power-management circuits.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an M.S. program in Electrical Engineering or a related field (e.g., EE, Electrical/Computer Engineering). Related technical degrees or equivalent practical experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design are acceptable where noted.
