Job Title

Internship - Analog Mixed-Signal Design

Role Summary

Work as an analog/mixed-signal design intern contributing to design, simulation, verification, and lab characterization of analog integrated circuits with a focus on low-power topologies and operational amplifiers.

You will collaborate with senior engineers on design reviews, debugging silicon, and automating workflows to support product development in power and mixed-signal systems.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Targeted at students currently enrolled in an M.S. program or equivalent; suitable for early-career candidates with relevant coursework or project experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include hands-on design, verification, and lab work plus scripting to support the design flow.

  • Contribute to design, simulation, and verification of analog and mixed-signal ICs.
  • Apply operational amplifier theory, perform stability analysis, and implement compensation techniques.
  • Design and evaluate low-power circuits such as LDOs and buck converters.
  • Perform silicon lab characterization and debug to verify performance against specifications.
  • Develop scripts and automation (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell) for design workflows and data analysis.
  • Participate in team design reviews, planning, and technical discussions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes for successful performance in the internship.

  • Practical knowledge of analog IC design, op-amp concepts, and low-power design principles.
  • Familiarity with circuit simulation and verification practices.
  • Ability to use scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell) to automate tasks and analyze data.
  • Hands-on mindset, willingness to work in lab environments for silicon bring-up and debugging.
  • Good communication skills, teamwork, and eagerness to learn from senior engineers.
  • Ability to provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States (employment contingent on verification).

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an M.S. program in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (Electrical Engineering, EE, or similar). No professional certification requirement specified; enrollment in a graduate program (M.S.) is stated as required.
