Intern - Wafer Bonding Process Development
Role Summary
The intern will support R&D work on wafer bonding process development within the Technology Development organization, contributing to experiments, data analysis, and evaluation of process solutions and equipment to improve manufacturability and performance.
This is an on-site research internship based in Boise, ID, collaborating with engineers and researchers and using approved AI and analytics tools to accelerate learning and process optimization.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Support research and development of manufacturable wafer bonding technologies for next-generation semiconductor devices.
- Plan, execute, and analyze experiments; document and present technical findings.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance yield, quality, cycle time, and manufacturing readiness.
- Evaluate new wafer bonding equipment, materials, and process solutions through structured characterization and data analysis.
- Leverage approved AI and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and accelerate process development.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Demonstrated understanding of wafer bonding principles and semiconductor processing applications.
- Research, laboratory, internship, or project experience in a semiconductor-related field.
- Working knowledge of statistics, mathematical analysis, and experimental design methodologies.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills for communicating technical concepts.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience analyzing semiconductor process data using statistical and data-visualization methods.
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and applying AI tools to engineering or process-development problems.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment; strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
