Intern - TSE R&D Equipment Project Manager
Role Summary
The Test Solutions Engineering (TSE) Equipment Roadmap and Strategy team plans, qualifies, and deploys test equipment for Micron's manufacturing operations. This internship supports technical equipment programs by coordinating schedules, tracking milestones, and assisting equipment deployment across sites.
Work alongside project and program leaders, engineering, manufacturing, and supplier partners to ensure equipment readiness and alignment with technology roadmaps.
Experience Level
Internship / Entry-level. Intended for current undergraduate students; no prior professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Support project management activities for equipment qualification and deployment; facilitate cross-functional coordination and maintain program documentation.
- Support planning, scheduling, and execution of equipment qualification, deployment, and risk-mitigation activities; maintain project documentation, trackers, and dashboards.
- Coordinate recurring cross-functional meetings; track action items, decisions, risks, and issue resolution.
- Assist with equipment build, shipment, installation, and deployment tracking across manufacturing sites to align with project milestones.
- Collaborate with technical teams to identify dependencies, assess schedule impacts, and support contingency planning.
- Apply AI tools and reporting solutions to improve project tracking, status reporting, and program visibility.
- Assume ownership of a project or workstream over the course of the internship and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
Requirements
Required skills and experience for successful performance in this internship; preferred items listed separately.
- Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and stakeholders.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and project-tracking tools to organize, analyze, and communicate information.
- Strong written and verbal communication and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to learn and apply structured project management concepts such as scheduling, risk tracking, status reporting, and action management.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior internship, academic project, leadership experience, or coursework involving project coordination, program management, engineering operations, or supply chain planning.
- Interest in semiconductor manufacturing, test engineering, equipment development, or technical program management.
- Experience creating project schedules, dashboards, reports, or performance metrics.
- Experience leveraging AI or AI-assisted productivity tools for project coordination, reporting, or data analysis.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, or a related technical field, with plans to return to complete the degree following the internship.
