Job Title

Intern - Structural Digital Logic Test

Role Summary

This internship is a research-focused position within the Interns Group, working on post-silicon test engineering for digital logic (e.g., stuck-at, transition delay faults).

The intern will support projects that evaluate and improve digital logic test methods using EDA tools, scripting, and possibly low-volume experiments on Automated Test Equipment (ATE).

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Suitable for current students or recent graduates; no specific years of prior professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on research, tool-driven analysis, and small-scale test experiments.

  • Survey and review academic and industry literature related to digital logic post-silicon test techniques.
  • Use EDA tools for ATPG, fault diagnosis, and static timing analysis to evaluate test approaches.
  • Perform data analysis and automation using Unix-based toolflows and Python scripting.
  • Design and implement small-scale data collection experiments on Automated Test Equipment when applicable.
  • Document findings and present results to the project team.

Requirements

Concise list of required and preferred qualifications for successful candidates.

  • Must-have: Understanding of digital logic and basic design-for-test concepts; familiarity with Unix/Linux and Python scripting; ability to read and summarize technical papers.
  • Must-have: Interest in post-silicon test engineering and hands-on analysis with EDA tools or willingness to learn them.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with ATPG, fault diagnosis, static timing analysis, or prior exposure to Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
  • Nice-to-have: Coursework or projects in circuit design, digital verification, or test-related topics.
