Intern: Software Engineering (Jasper R&D)
Role Summary
Part-time internship on the Jasper R&D team in Belo Horizonte. The intern will work on development and maintenance of Jasper formal verification tools, contributing bug fixes, new features, and automated tests while learning industry software practices.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for current students. Role is part-time (20 hours/week) and intended for students available to work onsite in Belo Horizonte.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on software development and quality assurance support:
- Implement bug fixes and new features in Jasper formal verification tools.
- Develop object-oriented C++ code on Linux.
- Create and maintain scripts and flows using Tcl and Python.
- Implement algorithms and data structures as required by features and tools.
- Contribute to software quality: write tests, run regression suites, and collaborate with QA engineers.
Requirements
Must-have skills and constraints for candidates:
- Verbal and written communication skills in English and Portuguese.
- Availability to work onsite in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais (Av. do Contorno 5800, Savassi) and to commit ~20 hours/week.
- Interest in learning and using C or C++, Tcl or Python, and hardware description languages (Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL).
- Basic problem-solving and debugging skills and an interest in good programming practices and software quality assurance.
Education Requirements
Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; expected degree completion in December 2027 or August 2028.
