Intern - Product Development Engineer

Role Summary

5-month, full-time internship within MSB Test Solutions Engineering focused on optimizing NAND component test flows using manufacturing data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled techniques. The intern will work with engineering teams to develop data pipelines, analytical models, visualizations, and automation to improve test-flow efficiency and product recovery.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Candidate should be available full-time for a 5-month period (Jan–May 2027).

Responsibilities

Work under guidance of engineering mentors to analyze manufacturing and test-flow data and deliver automation and analytical artifacts.

• Retrieve, clean, and prepare manufacturing and test data for analysis.
• Develop scripts, analytical models, and automation for data processing and reporting.
• Apply statistical analysis and machine learning methods to identify product recovery and test-flow improvement opportunities.
• Create visualizations and documented recommendations for engineering evaluation.
• Evaluate and validate AI-enabled tools and prompt-engineering outputs; follow data security, governance, and responsible-AI practices.
• Produce a final technical report and presentation detailing methodology, findings, validation, limitations, and next steps.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional attributes for successful internship performance.

• Must-have: Programming proficiency in Python, C++, SQL, or equivalent analytical languages.
• Must-have: Experience with data analysis libraries and tools (examples: Pandas, JMP, Perl, Hadoop, or equivalents).
• Must-have: Coursework or project experience in AI, machine learning, data engineering, or statistical analysis.
• Must-have: Familiarity with AI-enabled tools, coding assistants, and prompt-engineering techniques, including validation of AI outputs.
• Must-have: Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and technical documentation skills.
• Nice-to-have: Prior exposure to manufacturing or NAND test data, automation frameworks, or enterprise data platforms.
• Other: Ability to work on-site in Singapore and commit to the full internship period.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
