Intern - Process & Equipment Engineer

Role Summary

Internship to evaluate and extend the electrostatic chuck (ESC) lifetime on TEL Vigus dry etch tools from 9,000 to 10,000 RF hours. The role is based in Fab 10N/X in Singapore and reports to senior process/equipment engineers.

Hands-on position involving tool operation, process characterization, troubleshooting, data analysis, and support of qualification activities to improve productivity and reduce cost.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Intended for current students; Summer internship (May–Aug 2026), minimum 3 months.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities and expected deliverables:

  • Support evaluation and qualification to extend ESC lifetime from 9,000 to 10,000 RF hours.
  • Receive on-the-job training and operate Dry Etch TEL Vigus tools under supervision.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret process and tool data; perform statistical analysis and DOE.
  • Troubleshoot process deviations and assist in process characterization.
  • Collaborate with process/equipment engineers and technicians to propose plans and meet qualification timelines.
  • Deliver understanding of Dry Etch process and a documented ESC lifetime extension plan/result.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

  • Available to work on-site at Fab 10N/X, Singapore for the summer internship (minimum 3 months).
  • Willingness and aptitude for hands-on tool work and process engineering tasks.
  • Basic data analysis skills and familiarity with statistical methods and design of experiments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and technicians; clear communication skills.
  • Preferred: background or coursework in engineering-related subjects (see Education Requirements for details).

Education Requirements

Preferred enrollment in engineering-related studies (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, Electrical engineering or other engineering disciplines). Student status (pursuing a Bachelor's or equivalent) is implied; no specific degree level explicitly required. Internship period: Summer (May–Aug 2026), minimum 3 months.
