Intern - Probe Automation

Role Summary

Work within the Probe team at Fab 10N/X in Singapore to develop an applied AI solution that generates and ranks wafer test movement configurations. The intern will build an optimization engine and a web application to help engineers visualize, compare, and validate recommended test movement sequences.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Full-time commitment for at least 5 months is required.

Responsibilities

The project combines optimization, machine learning, and software engineering to automate wafer test movement optimization and produce quantifiable test-time improvements.

• Design and implement optimization algorithms to generate and rank wafer test movement configurations.
• Analyze historical configuration data and benchmark model results against manually optimized cases.
• Develop a web application for wafer visualization and side-by-side comparison of recommended configurations.
• Validate recommendations using representative production cases and quantify improvements in test time and tester utilization.
• Document methodology, results, limitations, and measured savings in a validation report.
• Collaborate with Automation, Equipment, and Engineering teams to integrate and test the solution.

Requirements

Required technical skills and experience.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and software engineering skills.
• Experience with Python and Linux.
• Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL).
• Experience with Angular or a similar front-end framework.
• Familiarity with machine learning and optimization libraries or AI-enabled workflows.
• Ability to work with manufacturing data and apply practical engineering constraints.
• Nice-to-have: exposure to combinatorial optimization, coverage/sequence optimization, or path-planning problems.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
