Intern - Photomask Yield Enhancement
Role Summary
Work in Micron's Mask Technology Center (MTC) Yield Enhancement team to reduce yield loss through data-driven analysis, statistical modeling, automation, and AI-enabled problem solving. The intern analyzes manufacturing datasets, develops predictive insights and automated reporting, and implements analytics that improve engineering decisions and operational performance.

Responsibilities
Contribute to analytics projects that identify yield issues and enable process improvements; deliver at least one end-to-end analytics project with measurable impact.
- Analyze manufacturing, process, quality, and yield data to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop dashboards, visualizations, and automated reports to support operational decision-making.
- Apply statistical methods and machine learning to investigate yield loss mechanisms and process variation.
- Collaborate with Yield Enhancement, Process Engineering, Process Integration, and Manufacturing teams on process optimization.
- Deliver an end-to-end analytics project that yields measurable improvement (yield, cycle time, reporting automation, or decision support).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and demonstrated project experience; academic degree details are in the Education Requirements section below.
- Practical experience with analytics tools such as Python, R, SQL, JMP, or similar (via coursework, research, or projects).
- Experience with statistical analysis, data modeling, or analyzing large datasets.
- Ability to translate analytical results into clear, actionable engineering insights.
Nice-to-have:
- Machine learning, AI, or predictive analytics project experience.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or JMP.
- Exposure to semiconductor manufacturing, process control, quality engineering, or industrial analytics.
Education Requirements
Pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline. Candidate must be a senior undergraduate student or a graduate student by the internship start date and cannot graduate prior to September 2027.
