Intern - Photolithography Process

Role Summary

Work on photolithography process development for DRAM manufacturing, contributing to experiments, data analysis, and process optimization. The intern will collaborate with engineers across Photolithography, Metrology, Dry Etch, Wet Process, and related areas.

Complete one or more technical projects, with opportunities to apply AI and data-driven methods to improve process performance and manufacturability.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Student position targeted at graduate students; no specific years of industry experience required.

Responsibilities

Work under supervision to design and execute experiments, analyze results, and communicate findings.

  • Design and run experiments (DOE) to optimize photolithography processes, including EUV and photoresist performance.
  • Plan, operate, and document experiments in a semiconductor cleanroom using advanced process equipment.
  • Analyze process images and manufacturing data with commercial and in-house tools; apply AI/data-driven methods where appropriate.
  • Support simulations, process window optimization, overlay improvement, and critical-dimension uniformity (CDU) efforts.
  • Prepare written reports and oral presentations of project plans, technical findings, and recommendations.

  • Must-have: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability from coursework, research, or projects.
  • Must-have: Ability to work independently, manage project timelines, and deliver results in a team environment.
  • Must-have: Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Coursework or hands-on experience in photolithography or semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with AI/data science, programming, statistics, or applying data-driven techniques to process development.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience analyzing experimental data, process characterization results, or semiconductor metrology measurements.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a M.S. or Ph.D. (graduate student) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical field relevant to photolithography; must remain enrolled and in active academic status through Fall 2027.
