Intern - NAND Process and Equipment Engineer
Role Summary
Intern on the Process and Equipment Engineering (Diffusion) team focused on CMOS matching analysis and wafer-edge yield improvement in advanced NAND semiconductor manufacturing.
The intern will work with process and equipment engineers to analyze manufacturing, metrology, inspection, and defect data, develop analytical and automation tools, and produce engineering recommendations to improve yield and process learning.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship - intended for current undergraduate or graduate students. Typical experience: 0β2 years. Full-time commitment for approximately 6 months is required.
Responsibilities
Participate in a defined engineering project to analyze and improve wafer-edge performance and CMOS matching; deliver data-driven recommendations and tools.
- Analyze process, metrology, inspection, and defect datasets to identify yield loss mechanisms and variation drivers.
- Study CMOS matching behavior and wafer-edge performance characteristics across manufacturing populations.
- Develop analytical methods, visualizations, and automation to accelerate engineering investigations.
- Prototype AI-enabled or automated tools that improve data interpretation and workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional manufacturing, process, and yield engineering teams to validate findings.
- Produce a technical report and final presentation summarizing methodology, findings, limitations, and recommendations.

- Must-have: Strong analytical thinking, clear written and verbal communication, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Must-have: Knowledge of statistical analysis and data-driven engineering problem solving.
- Must-have: Basic programming experience in Python, MATLAB, or similar analytical tools.
- Must-have: Familiarity with data visualization, automation, or AI-enabled engineering workflows.
- Must-have: Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing concepts or process engineering fundamentals.
- Must-have: Available full-time for a 6-month internship period.
- Nice-to-have: Coursework or project experience in yield enhancement, defectivity analysis, or statistical process control.
Education Requirements
Candidate should be actively pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
