Micron TechnologyJob Title
Intern - NAND Probe Product Engineering (Test Mode Integration)
Role Summary
The intern will join the NAND Probe Product Engineering team to work on test mode development, silicon validation methodologies, and AI-enabled engineering tools for advanced NAND technologies. The role combines semiconductor test engineering fundamentals with data analytics, automation, and AI proof-of-concepts.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Intended for students (undergraduate or graduate) with limited industry experience; typically suitable for candidates currently enrolled in a degree program.
Responsibilities
The intern will complete a structured project under the supervision of product and design engineers. Key responsibilities include:
- Learn NAND architecture, probe testing concepts, Design for Test (DFT) features, and test mode integration practices.
- Analyze engineering datasets to identify product behaviors, yield opportunities, and failure patterns using statistical techniques.
- Investigate approaches to improve test observability, diagnostics, coverage, and engineering learning efficiency.
- Develop proof-of-concept AI/ML or Agentic AI solutions, automation scripts, or LLM-based tools to support engineering workflows.
- Build analytical dashboards, visualization tools, or automation prototypes to support data exploration and decision making.
- Document technical findings and present a final report summarizing methodology, observations, recommendations, and future work.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and expectations. Academic degree details are listed under Education Requirements below.
- Foundational knowledge of semiconductor devices, electronics, digital systems, integrated circuit testing, or related engineering fundamentals.
- Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages demonstrated via coursework, labs, or projects.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, LLMs, workflow automation, or AI assistant ideas (practical experience preferred but not required).
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; ability to work with noisy engineering data.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
- Ability to commit to a full-time internship period of approximately 5 months.
- Willingness to learn and adapt; receptive to mentorship and feedback.
Education Requirements
Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductor Physics, or a related engineering or technical discipline; or equivalent practical experience.
