Intern - MSB Process Integration Engineer
Role Summary
Work as an intern on a team in MSB Process Integration Engineering supporting semiconductor packaging, assembly and test. The project applies data analytics and AI-enabled methods to identify sources of manufacturing variability, reduce rejects, and improve process stability.
Experience Level
Entry-level (internship). Intended for students or early-career candidates; prior professional experience is not required.
Responsibilities
Perform data analysis and produce deliverables that support yield and variability reduction in high-volume semiconductor packaging and test.
- Analyze inline signals, process parameters, and test results to identify patterns related to rejects and variability.
- Apply statistical and data analytics techniques and develop visualizations or models to communicate findings.
- Explore and prototype AI-enabled analytical methods to improve detection and analysis efficiency.
- Document methods, results, limitations, and recommendations in a technical report and present to engineering stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to validate findings and propose next steps for process improvement.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and availability for the internship period.
- Programming experience with Python and familiarity with SQL or equivalent data query tools.
- Familiarity with statistics, data analysis, and data visualization techniques.
- Ability to learn semiconductor packaging, assembly and test processes and apply systems-thinking to manufacturing problems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
- Self-motivated, able to work across functions, and deliver a final technical report and presentation.
- Available full time for a 5-month internship period.
Education Requirements
Seeking candidates pursuing a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field.
