Intern in Photonics flow

Role Summary

As an intern on the photonics flow team you will test and evaluate Cadence's photonics design software (Virtuoso-based), produce customer-facing materials, and help define and validate the photonics design flow on real industry cases.

The role involves working with simulators and AI-assisted tools, improving coding skills, and collaborating with a multinational engineering team at the Meylan site.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” internship. Targeted at final-year engineering students or early-career candidates with limited industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Test and evaluate the latest photonics design features within the Virtuoso environment.
  • Develop documentation and example collateral (Rapid Adoption Kits, demos, examples) to help customers adopt the software.
  • Collaborate with engineers to define and validate the photonics design flow using real cases.
  • Use adjacent tools such as simulators and AI enhancements to increase productivity.
  • Develop and improve scripts or code that support testing and the flow.
  • Communicate results and collaborate within a multinational team at the Meylan site.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes:

  • Understanding of IC design and photonics fundamentals.
  • Basic familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso or similar design tools.
  • Good communication skills in French and English.
  • Team player with strong problem-solving ability.

Education Requirements

Final-year engineering student (engineering school), preferably in photonics or microelectronics engineering.
