Intern - Failure Analysis Technician (SSD)

Role Summary

Full-time internship supporting Solid State Drive Product Engineering Failure Analysis at Micron's MSB Singapore site. The intern will learn failure analysis methodologies, fault isolation, laboratory techniques, and data review used to diagnose SSD performance and reliability issues.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Minimum 5-month full-time commitment (semester internship running September to February 2027).

Responsibilities

Work under guidance to support failure analysis and data-review activities for SSD technology.

• Explore fault isolation concepts and assist with failure investigation workflows.
• Collect and analyze failure-related datasets to identify trends and patterns.
• Use and learn laboratory equipment (e.g., optical microscopy, thermal imaging) through guided sessions.
• Document observations, maintain clear records, and communicate findings to engineering teams.
• Prepare and deliver a final presentation summarizing learning outcomes and analysis results.

• Interest in hardware systems and failure analysis (must-have).
• Availability for a full-time, minimum 5-month internship from September to February 2027, based onsite in Singapore (must-have).
• Familiarity with laboratory environments or prior exposure to lab equipment (nice-to-have).

Education Requirements

Course of interest: Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related disciplines.
