Role Summary
Six-month onsite internship at Renesas' design center in Catania focused on research and development in silicon validation automation with emphasis on Power Management ICs.
The intern will work within the Performance Computing Power team on validation frameworks, test setups, and measurement automation alongside experienced engineers.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. No specific years of professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and optimize laboratory test setups for complex silicon evaluation.
- Develop automated validation frameworks and measurement scripts (Python is preferred for scripting).
- Validate analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power management ICs against electrical, functional, and performance specifications.
- Perform data acquisition, statistical analysis, result correlation, and prepare detailed technical reports.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Applications, Firmware, Product, and Test engineering teams.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes:
- Proficiency with at least one programming language; Python is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of power management applications in consumer electronics.
- Able to read board-level analog and digital PCB schematics.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Cross-cultural awareness and ability to work in multisite, multicultural teams.
- Excellent command of English.
Education Requirements
Enrollment in a Master's (MSc) program in Electronic Engineering is expected; the internship is intended to support the candidate's final graduation thesis.
