Intern (f/m/d) — Radio Middleware Validation Engineering

Role Summary

Contribute to validation of software-based radio processing on automotive System-on-Chip by maintaining and extending a Java-based test framework and test bench. Implement and run test cases, control signal generators, evaluate results, and report deviations to the engineering team.

Paid internship (€2,420/month).

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary tasks focus on test framework development and execution of validation activities.

• Review test case specifications.
• Use and extend the existing Java-based test framework.
• Extend the test bench to control new signal generators.
• Implement additional test cases to improve system test coverage.
• Execute the test plan, analyze results, and report deviations.
• Validate new product modifications and contribute to product documentation.

Requirements

Key skills and tools required or recommended for the role.

• Must-have: Strong Java programming skills (specified >3 years).
• Experience with Git as SCM and pull-request workflows (Bitbucket).
• Familiarity with Jira for issue management.
• Ability to read and understand mobile communication standards (e.g., DAB, HD Radio) and basic radio-domain concepts.
• Understanding of test frameworks, trace tools, test/measurement equipment, and test specification/methodology.
• Problem-solving ability and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in English.

Nice-to-have:

• Fluent in German.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python).
• Experience with radio domains (AM/FM/DAB/HD Radio), Maven, Eclipse/IntelliJ, or NoSQL (Couchbase).
