Intern - Engineering (Applications)
Role Summary
Product application engineering intern supporting the mixed-signal IC product line. The role assists customers with design-in activities, performs bench characterization, develops technical collateral and evaluation materials, and works cross-functionally with product marketing, product management, and chip design teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for students; suitable for current undergraduates pursuing a relevant engineering degree.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Support customer design-in activities: answer technical questions, perform schematic and PCB layout reviews, and assist with customer board debug.
- Perform bench characterization and testing for new products.
- Develop technical collateral: datasheets, reference designs, user guides, application notes, and evaluation examples.
- Create go-to-market technical materials such as evaluation boards, reference schematics, and design tools.
- Collaborate with product marketing, product management, and chip design teams to support customers and collect product/application requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes:
- Familiarity with discrete semiconductor devices and their operation (MOSFET, BJT, diodes).
- Laboratory experience using digital oscilloscopes, function generators, curve tracers, and network analyzers for testing and debugging.
- Experience with schematic capture, circuit simulation, and PCB layout tools.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, solve technical problems independently, and meet project deadlines.
- Well-organized, self-driven, and effective written and verbal communication; able to work in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% as required.

- Academic or project experience in power electronics.
Education Requirements
Pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or Electrical and Computer Engineering.
