This is an engineering internship focused on process integration, device evaluation, and data-driven technical analysis in support of technology scaling.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for students currently enrolled in graduate programs (Master's or PhD candidates).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include defining integration requirements, coordinating across engineering teams, documenting plans and risks, and evaluating technology options.

  • Define technology achievements, design rules, structural requirements, and electrical specifications to meet program targets and timelines.
  • Collaborate with process development, simulation, process architecture, circuit design, and quality teams to align on product and technology requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for process integration plans, technical risks, issue resolution, and characterization strategies.
  • Evaluate alternative device architectures, process enablers, and scaling approaches for future technology development.
  • Use approved AI and AI-assisted tools to support technical analysis, data interpretation, and engineering decisions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and capabilities for successful performance in the internship.

  • Must-have: Demonstrated knowledge of semiconductor process integration, device physics, and technology scaling principles.
  • Must-have: Experience using Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, and data-driven problem-solving methodologies.
  • Must-have: Proven ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges in multi-functional engineering environments.
  • Must-have: Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear technical presentations and documentation.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience providing technical leadership or coordinating engineering activities in R&D.
  • Nice-to-have: Proficiency with AI, generative AI, or AI-enabled tools for technical research and analysis.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience applying statistical modeling, advanced analytics, or machine learning techniques to semiconductor process development.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related technical field with expected graduation in September 2027 or later (required). Enrollment in or pursuit of a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related technical field is preferred. "Related technical field" includes disciplines such as physics, materials science, or other engineering fields relevant to semiconductor device development.
