Job Title
Intern - DRAM IP Circuits Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the DRAM Engineering Group, IP Development team to support design and verification of analog, mixed-signal, and high-speed interface circuits for next-generation DRAM IP. This internship provides hands-on experience in circuit simulation, verification, physical design support, and silicon validation while contributing to engineering projects.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Intended for currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students in an engineering or related STEM program.
Responsibilities
Work with experienced circuit designers to support development and validation of DRAM IP blocks.
- Assist in design, development, simulation, and optimization of analog, mixed-signal, and high-speed interface circuits.
- Perform circuit simulations using SPICE, Verilog, and mixed-signal environments; analyze across process, voltage, and temperature corners.
- Support schematic development, participate in design reviews, and assist with layout review and parasitic extraction.
- Contribute to post-layout verification and circuit performance validation on silicon.
- Collaborate with verification, layout, product engineering, modeling, and cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.
- Develop automation scripts and Agentic AI workflows to improve productivity, simulation efficiency, and technical analysis.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes are listed first; preferred items are noted as nice-to-have.
-
Must-have: Basic programming or scripting experience (Python, Perl, TCL, MATLAB, or similar).
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and ability to work in teams.
- Ability to complete a technical project, summarize results, and present recommendations to engineering partners.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience or exposure to analog, mixed-signal, memory, high-speed interface, or semiconductor circuit design via coursework, research, internships, or projects.
- Familiarity with industry EDA tools, SPICE simulation, Verilog modeling, or mixed-signal verification flows.
- Exposure to physical design concepts such as layout review, parasitic extraction, post-layout simulation, floor-planning, or design rule considerations.
- Experience applying AI or AI-assisted tools to engineering workflows, automation, or data analysis.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related STEM field. Relevant coursework or projects in CMOS analog circuits, CMOS digital circuits, semiconductor devices, signal integrity, or related circuit design topics are expected.
