Staff IP Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead the design and delivery of Lattice Foundation IP in Penang. Own IP architecture, RTL implementation, verification, and release activities while coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet product and quality requirements.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 8+ years of experience in SoC and/or FPGA IP development.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead design, implementation, and verification of Foundation IP and soft IP for FPGA products.
- Define requirements, scope features, and plan release cycles with cross-functional teams.
- Develop RTL, testbenches, and validation suites; ensure timing closure and debug silicon issues.
- Drive quality and robustness through design reviews, verification sign-off, and release sign-off.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership; establish best practices and technical direction.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Proven hands-on experience in SoC and/or FPGA RTL design, testbench development, logic verification, timing closure, and debugging.
- Knowledge of FPGA architecture and FPGA software tooling for device modeling and soft IP development.
- Demonstrated technical ownership of IP projects from specification through validation and release.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with FPGA primitives (embedded block RAM, DSP blocks, PLLs, oscillators, I/O gearing) or silicon power/security features.
- Experience with FPGA EDA flows and automation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. The role expects approximately 8+ years of relevant SoC/FPGA IP development experience.
