Intern - Design Verification Infrastructure Engineer (Platform)
Role Summary
Join the Design Verification Infrastructure team to build and maintain the Verification Platform used across SiFive’s verification efforts. The role focuses on developing platform tooling, libraries, and integrations that scale verification workflows and enable automated end-to-end flows.
Collaborate with Platform Technologies engineers to extend Chisel and CIRCT and deliver libraries and tools for test harnesses, stimulus generation, metadata queries, and verification automation.

Entry-level (Internship). Suitable for students or early-career candidates; specific years of experience not required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and supporting the Verification Platform and related libraries and tools.
- Architect and maintain a scalable Verification Platform for design verification and validation activities.
- Develop features in Chisel and CIRCT to support platform libraries and tools.
- Implement Scala-based verification libraries such as test harnesses, stimulus, scoreboards, and generators.
- Provide Python libraries and tooling to query design metadata and verification intent.
- Build end-to-end verification tools and flow integrations for DV and validation teams.
- Document and educate verification teams on best practices and platform usage.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role; preferred items listed separately.
- Experience with at least one compiled language (e.g., C, C++, Rust) and one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with modern software engineering practices (version control, testing, CI/CD).
- Experience deploying software systems into production or production-like environments.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Chisel, CIRCT, MLIR, compilers, databases, operating systems, or EDA verification flows.
