Intern - Design Engineer, HBM
Role Summary
The HBM Design Engineer Intern supports development and verification of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) products used in AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing. The role works within the HBM engineering team and partners with global design, verification, and validation teams to execute verification plans, debug issues, and maintain verification environments.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for current undergraduate or master’s students. Designed to provide hands-on exposure to semiconductor design and verification; prior industry experience is not required.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute simulation test plans to validate functionality, performance, and timing requirements for HBM designs.
- Analyze design specifications and assist in creating verification strategies using standard methodologies.
- Debug design and verification issues in collaboration with design, verification, and validation engineers.
- Use hardware description languages and verification tools to develop and maintain verification environments.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams delivering memory solutions for AI and advanced computing applications.
Requirements
Minimum requirements for applicants:
- Demonstrated knowledge of transistor-level circuits, CMOS fundamentals, and digital logic design principles.
- Experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, or other hardware description languages through coursework, projects, or research.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Proven communication, teamwork, and leadership skills demonstrated through academic, project, or extracurricular experiences.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; enrollment must be maintained throughout the internship period.
