Role Summary

Internship on the Assembly Equipment / Equipment Engineering team at MSB, Singapore. The role focuses on analyzing wirebond equipment performance and developing process understanding through data-driven investigation.

The project combines hands-on exposure to equipment setup, conversion, and qualification with data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for reliability and process improvement.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship) — intended for current students or recent graduates; no prior professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

• Analyze assembly wirebond equipment performance data to identify patterns, variation, and trends.
• Develop structured datasets, charts, and dashboards to track equipment performance metrics.
• Investigate parameters affecting equipment stability and output quality.
• Study equipment setup, conversion, and qualification workflows through guided learning.
• Apply basic data-analysis techniques to evaluate equipment reliability and variation sources.
• Prepare a summary report and final presentation of findings and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with equipment and process engineers on reliability and continuous-improvement tasks.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes for the internship:

• Basic data analysis skills (Excel, Python, or equivalent).
• Analytical problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to create visualizations and communicate technical findings clearly.
• Interest in manufacturing, equipment engineering, and reliability concepts.

Nice-to-have:

• Prior exposure to semiconductor assembly, wirebond, or equipment engineering.
• Familiarity with data-visualization tools (e.g., matplotlib, Tableau) or basic statistics.

Education Requirements

Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related technical field; relevant coursework or equivalent practical experience is expected for an internship role.
