Intern Analog Engineer
Role Summary
Six-month internship in Renesas' new design center in Catania focused on analog and mixed-signal R&D for Power Management ICs and Smart Power Stages targeting high-performance computing.
The intern will join the Performance Computing Power team, work with experienced engineers, and carry out transistor-level design, simulation, and documentation as part of a final graduation thesis.

Internship - intended for an MSc student completing a final graduation thesis; entry-level research/development role.
Responsibilities
Contribute to design, evaluation, and documentation of analog/mixed-signal circuit blocks under guidance.
- Perform transistor-level design of analog and mixed-signal circuit blocks.
- Evaluate performance trade-offs among circuit topologies.
- Run simulations across PVT corners and Monte Carlo where applicable and document results.
- Prepare technical reports and participate in technical reviews.
- Ensure designs meet specifications and quality requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities for the internship; familiarity items listed as nice-to-have.
- Knowledge of CMOS and bipolar transistors, diodes, resistors, capacitors, inductors.
- Basic knowledge of BCD technology.
- Ability to design basic circuit blocks and run PVT and Monte Carlo simulations.
- Understanding of voltage/current references, current mirrors, amplifiers, comparators, oscillators/clocking, and digital gates.
- Familiarity with feedback control systems and switch-mode power conversion topologies and linear regulators.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Nice-to-have: experience with the Cadence design environment.
Education Requirements
Targeted at an MSc (Master's) student in Electronic Engineering preparing a final graduation thesis. Candidates from closely related technical fields (electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent) are appropriate.
