Job Title

Intern β€” AI-Driven Flow Validation for Analog Design

Role Summary

This is an internship to evaluate and validate AI-driven design flows for analog semiconductor development. You will work on industry-relevant cases to define and validate new flows that improve design team productivity.

Work includes using the Virtuoso Design Platform and related tools (simulators, extraction, physical verification) and collaborating with a multi-national team at Cadence. The role offers fair internship compensation, housing allowance for interns from abroad, public transport ticket, meal vouchers, 30 days annual leave, and a hybrid work model in a modern office.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Suitable for students or early-career candidates; no specific years of professional experience required.

Responsibilities

As an intern you will contribute to researching, implementing, and validating AI-assisted design workflows for analog IC design.

  • Investigate generative AI techniques applicable to semiconductor design flows.
  • Define and validate AI-driven flow prototypes on real industry cases.
  • Use Virtuoso and adjacent tools (simulators, extraction, physical verification) to run experiments and validate results.
  • Develop and improve scripts/tools; implement basic automation where needed.
  • Collaborate with engineers across teams and document findings and recommendations.
  • Analyze results, identify failure modes, and propose improvements to the flow.

Requirements

Core must-have skills and attributes for successful performance in this internship.

  • Understanding of integrated circuit (IC) design concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso or comparable IC design environments.
  • Good communication skills; fluent in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team; collaborative attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with simulators, extraction tools, or physical verification workflows.
  • Programming or scripting experience (Python, Tcl, or similar) for tool integration and automation.
  • Familiarity with generative AI/ML concepts applied to design automation.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled MSc/MEng student is preferred, ideally in micro-electronics engineering or a closely related technical field.
