Job Title

Intern 2027 - DRAM Customer Enablement Engineering

Role Summary

This internship supports Micron's DRAM Customer Enablement team to validate, characterize, and enable new DRAM products on server, client, and mobile platforms. The intern will work with hardware, firmware, systems, and data analytics engineers to run experiments, analyze results, and develop tooling that improves validation and customer enablement.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Targeted at students currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs (internship role; no prior professional experience required beyond coursework and project work).

Responsibilities

Support engineering efforts across platform bring-up, testing, data analysis, and automation.

  • Assist with bring-up and validation of new server, client, or mobile platforms using Micron DRAM products.
  • Support system-level testing, characterization, and debugging of memory-related issues.
  • Analyze lab and field datasets to identify trends, reliability concerns, and performance insights.
  • Develop or improve software tools to automate testing, analysis, and reporting (primarily Python-based).
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers on DRAM reliability, fault management, and system behavior investigations.
  • Create visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate technical findings.
  • Support customer and partner enablement by reproducing and analyzing technical issues.

Requirements

Practical skills and attributes expected from candidates (education requirements are summarized separately below).

Must-have

  • Basic programming experience in Python, C/C++, or a similar language.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work with large datasets.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; ability to document and present technical results.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and take initiative to learn new tools.

Nice-to-have

  • Coursework or hands-on experience in computer architecture, memory systems, or semiconductor devices.
  • Experience developing Python-based engineering automation and data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and basic shell tooling.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (examples mentioned in posting include Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Roo Code).
  • Exposure to SQL, cloud platforms, large-scale data processing, or performance benchmarking.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field, as specified in the posting.
