Intermediate AE (Intermediate Applications Engineer)
Role Summary
Define and debug analog and mixed-signal IC products, develop application reference circuits, author datasheets and application notes, and provide technical support and training to field engineers and key customers. Work cross-functionally with IC design, field applications, and marketing teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical experience: 1–3+ years working on analog/mixed-signal ICs, power electronics, or related roles.
Responsibilities
Core duties include product definition, validation, documentation, and customer-facing support.
- Collaborate with design, field applications, and marketing to define and debug analog IC products.
- Evaluate new products, perform tests, and prepare technical reports.
- Design and develop application reference circuits and evaluate their performance.
- Write and maintain datasheets, application notes, and design documentation.
- Provide application support and deliver technical training to customers and field application engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Experience in ACDC power module design, debugging, production, and certification processes.
- Strong hardware implementation and circuit debugging skills.
- Proficient at analyzing analog and power electronic circuits; familiar with control theory and control methods.
- Familiarity with MCU and DSP usage; proficient in C programming.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills; good English communication and writing ability.
- Preferred: work experience in the switching power supply industry.
Education Requirements
M.S. in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent with 1+ years relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years relevant experience. Fields: Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related technical disciplines; equivalent practical experience accepted.
