Role Summary

Senior pre-sales Applications Engineer (Field Applications Engineer) responsible for technical discovery, solution definition, and driving customer evaluations and technical closure for Interface IP across Korea. Works closely with Sales, R&D, Product Marketing, and Program Management to ensure successful IP selection, evaluation, and integration.

Experience Level

Senior — senior-level individual contributor. The posting requests experienced candidates (typically 10+ years: Master’s with 10+ years or Bachelor’s with 12+ years as specified).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities focus on leading technical customer engagements and enabling IP selection and integration.

• Lead the pre-sales technical lifecycle for Interface IP opportunities across Korea: discovery, solution definition, evaluation planning, and technical close.
• Work directly with customer SoC architects and design teams to recommend Interface IP solutions (SerDes, PCIe, DDR, USB, MIPI, D2D, Ethernet) and define integration approaches.
• Define evaluation success criteria, configure evaluation plans/POCs, and drive risk mitigation for performance, power, area, and schedule.
• Run architecture workshops, technical deep dives, and design reviews; track action items and ensure timely follow-up.
• Support competitive situations with technical differentiation, objection handling, and tradeoff analysis versus alternate solutions.
• Facilitate PHY IP porting and technical negotiations across process nodes; align scope, assumptions, and deliverables with internal teams.
• Translate customer issues into engineering requests, prioritize field-driven fixes, and coordinate resolution with R&D during evaluations and integration.
• Contribute technical content to RFIs/RFPs and proposals and provide scope/effort inputs as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

• Extensive hands-on background in ASIC/SoC design and/or verification with deep knowledge of design flows, integration challenges, and silicon bring-up.
• Technical expertise in at least one major Interface IP domain (SerDes, PCIe, DDR, USB, MIPI, D2D, or Ethernet); working knowledge of PHY architecture and integration.
• Proven experience in a customer-facing pre-sales technical role (FAE, Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer, or Technical Consultant) supporting evaluations and driving technical closure.
• Experience delivering technical presentations and leading customer workshops for engineering and business stakeholders.
• Fluent technical communication in Korean and English (written and verbal).
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and drive alignment without direct authority.
• Nice-to-have: program management or project leadership on complex SoC/IP integration efforts, multi-site coordination, or cross–time-zone projects.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field with 12+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 10+ years in IC design, verification, semiconductor IP, or related areas (as specified in the posting).
