Role Summary

Join the Interconnect Design team in Roskilde to lead end-to-end development of high-speed optical transceivers for data center interconnects. The role combines hands-on laboratory engineering, technical ownership, and cross-functional collaboration to bring prototypes to production.

Mid-level — typically requires 3+ years of industry experience working on high-speed optical or digital communication systems.

Responsibilities

Deliver complete transceiver developments from technical definition through production release and support.

• Drive design, adaptation, and validation of high-speed optical transceivers.
• Provide technical leadership for development programs from requirements definition to production release.
• Collaborate with system architects, firmware, optics, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and operations teams.
• Perform laboratory bring-up, debugging, and optimization of prototypes.
• Execute detailed electrical and optical characterization against industry standards.
• Support root-cause analysis and performance optimization at component and system level.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience; followed by relevant nice-to-have skills.

• Must-have: 3+ years industry experience with high-speed optical or digital communication systems.
• Must-have: Hands-on laboratory experience with measurement, validation, and debugging of high-speed hardware.
• Must-have: Working knowledge of optoelectronic components and transceiver architectures.
• Must-have: Basic understanding of electronics and RF principles.
• Must-have: Strong ownership and ability to independently drive projects forward.
• Must-have: Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Must-have: Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with optical system design or high-speed optical links.
• Nice-to-have: Exposure to electronic or optoelectronic packaging.
• Nice-to-have: Background in PCB or electrical circuit design and EMC/EMI fundamentals.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with thermal solutions for high-performance hardware.

Education Requirements

Master's degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related technical field is required or equivalent experience. A PhD in a relevant technical field is a strong plus. Related fields include Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, or other engineering/science disciplines.
