Intellectual Property Security Engineer
Role Summary
Join NVIDIA's Hardware IP Security team to protect company intellectual property by designing secure workflows, policies, and controls for hardware engineering environments. This is a hands-on contributor role that balances technical delivery, policy development, training, and cross-team collaboration.

Senior β requires 8+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on preventing misuse of hardware IP, enabling secure engineering practices, and responding to threats affecting security infrastructure.
- Design and implement secure-by-default workflows and environments for hardware and IP engineering teams.
- Create training materials and documentation to operationalize security policies and standards.
- Develop and enforce security policies, controls, and methodologies for IP protection.
- Perform threat modeling and risk assessment for data flows, trust boundaries, and design workflows.
- Investigate security incidents and newly discovered threats related to hardware IP and engineering infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Security, Hardware Engineering, and IT partners to improve practices and reduce productivity impact.
- Set priorities, plan schedules, and drive cross-functional initiatives to completion.
Requirements
Core technical and leadership capabilities required for immediate contribution.
Must have:
- Proven experience leading technical teams or initiatives in hardware engineering and/or information security.
- Strong threat-modeling skills (data flows, trust boundaries, STRIDE-style analysis) and ability to convert findings into mitigations.
- Experience securing Linux-based on-premises or cloud infrastructure at scale, including authentication, authorization, hardening, patching, logging, and incident response.
- Ability to prioritize practical risk-reduction measures in fast-moving engineering environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable presenting risk and mitigation plans to senior management.
Nice to have:
- Experience securing AI-assisted developer workflows (connected CLIs, agent permissions, prompt injection, data leakage controls).
- Experience with security monitoring, audit logging, detection engineering, and investigation of suspicious activity.
- Familiarity with EDA workflows, semiconductor design environments, or other large-scale engineering/HPC environments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
