Intel Wi‑Fi Driver Software Developer Student

Role Summary

Work on Intel's Wi‑Fi kernel-mode driver team to design, implement, and validate features that span hardware, firmware, and operating system layers. The role is hands-on and cross-functional, collaborating with firmware, platform, and application teams to improve Wi‑Fi reliability across Intel-powered devices.

This is a student internship role based in Petah-Tikva, Israel, requiring on-site presence and regular mentorship from experienced engineers.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Student intern. Suitable for current undergraduate or graduate students with academic time remaining; typically 0–3 years of professional experience. Requires minimum 20 hours per week availability.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on driver and embedded system development, debugging across layers, and integration testing.

  • Design, develop, and integrate new Wi‑Fi kernel-mode driver features from concept to integration.
  • Participate in driver and embedded development for large-scale, real-world systems.
  • Debug and resolve complex issues across firmware, driver, and OS boundaries.
  • Collaborate with firmware, platform teams, and external partners to deliver robust solutions.
  • Work under mentorship to validate changes, perform testing, and document designs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, availability, and communication ability; preferred skills listed separately.

  • Proficient in programming with C and C++.
  • Available at least 20 hours per week during the internship period.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Comfort working on-site in Petah-Tikva, Israel.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Windows kernel development or other low-level driver/firmware development.
  • Familiarity with operating system internals (threads, processes, memory management, power states).
  • Understanding of hardware–software interaction and embedded systems.
  • Experience using AI tools for design, programming, or testing.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; at least three semesters remaining until graduation.
