Job Title

Intel Foundry Process TD Frame Cellset Engineer

Role Summary

Owner of frame cellset integration and validation for Intel Foundry Technology Development. The role integrates scribe-line cells (process monitors, alignment marks, metrology, electrical test, etc.) into frame layouts that accompany each product and supports fabrication from development through high-volume manufacturing.

The role interacts with Process Technology Development, Product Design, Litho RET, Design Enablement, Tapeout and Mask Operations, and Virtual Factory groups to ensure frame collateral accuracy and tape-out readiness.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience guidance: several years of semiconductor manufacturing experience (see Education Requirements for degree/experience combinations).

Responsibilities

Primary duties include producing and validating frame layouts and communicating changes to manufacturing.

  • Perform layout edits based on process design specifications and fab module owner guidelines.
  • Disposition drawn-data changes through XORs and design-rule flows.
  • Provide frame dimension and field configuration estimates to product design teams.
  • Verify placement of scribe-line cells to meet fab module best-known-methods and technology specifications.
  • Ensure correct frame data output and validate frame integrity through the tape-out process.
  • Document and communicate frame revision changes and NPI setup data to manufacturing organizations.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted where applicable.

  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing processes, particularly lithography and metrology. (Must-have)
  • Practical experience with layout edits, design-rule flows, and tape-out data validation. (Must-have)
  • Ability to produce accurate frame dimension and field configuration estimates and to verify scribe-line cell placement. (Must-have)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; attention to detail and ability to work independently and in teams. (Must-have)
  • Familiarity with CAD layout tools; desirable experience with Cadence Virtuoso and Mentor/Calibre tools. (Preferred)
  • Experience with UNIX design-flow environments and basic shell scripting. (Preferred)

Education Requirements

Degree requirements include one of the following: PhD in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR Master's degree in those fields with 3+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience; OR Bachelor's degree in those fields with 4+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience. Candidates with equivalent practical semiconductor manufacturing experience may be considered.
