Intel Foundry Advanced Device Development Engineer
Role Summary
Work on the Logic Technology Development (LTD) team in Taipei to design, execute, and analyze experiments that develop and optimize advanced silicon transistor process technology for foundry and internal products.
Lead device and process engineering efforts, deliver silicon-to-simulation correlation and robust PDK outputs, define test structures, and collaborate across integration, design, and reliability teams to meet performance, yield, and reliability targets.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 10+ years of experience in the advanced-node semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include planning experiments, leading teams, and delivering production-capable process technology:
- Manage design, execution, and analysis of experiments for leading-edge transistor technology.
- Lead a team of device and process engineers; set priorities, develop staff, and manage team performance.
- Perform physical and electrical data analysis and silicon-to-simulation (model-hardware) correlation.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality Process-Design Kits (PDKs) and layout effect validation for design enablement.
- Define robust test structures and test programs to validate design rules and extract device parameters.
- Collaborate with foundry technology and program integration teams to meet customer product-performance goals.
- Use statistical analysis, data mining, and fab/yield data to guide development direction.

Must-have:
- 10+ years of experience in the advanced-node semiconductor industry working on materials, fabrication, device physics, or electrical characterization of semiconductor devices.
- Experience with electrical-test data analysis and correlation with process and fab metrics.
- Experience defining test structures and implementing process-monitoring programs.
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams and collaborate across technical disciplines to deliver manufacturing-capable processes.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of advanced transistor device structures and device physics.
- Experience with device and circuit simulation tools.
- Familiarity with SPC/DOE and engineering analysis tools.
- Experience with analytics and scripting/programming (e.g., JMP, MATLAB, Python, SQL, C/C++, JSL, Perl, TCL).
- Experience with machine learning, LLM workflows, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or AI-driven data pipelines.
Education Requirements
Master's degree required; Ph.D. preferred. Fields: Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, or a directly related semiconductor field.
