Infra Design Verification Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Staff-level design verification engineer for the Infra IP team responsible for verification of the DDR subsystem. The role focuses on building verification infrastructure, integrating VIPs, executing test plans, debugging failures, and improving coverage to ensure high-quality silicon deliverables.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 5+ years of hardware or design verification experience (senior-level responsibilities and leadership on verification tasks).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on verification planning, execution, and debugging for DDR and related infra IP.
- Create and maintain DV infrastructure and testbenches.
- Integrate and validate VIPs and third-party verification components.
- Develop and execute test plans; write assertions and directed/random tests.
- Debug failures, root-cause issues, and add targeted debug to accelerate bug resolution.
- Analyze and close code and functional coverage; add tests to improve coverage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure program verification goals are met.
Requirements
Key technical skills and domain experience required or strongly preferred.
- Must-have: Strong experience with UVM and SystemVerilog for verification; strong debug skills.
- Must-have: Experience building monitors, scoreboards, sequencers and sequences; scripting to automate verification flows.
- Must-have: Experience analyzing coverage and improving testbenches in large-scale verification environments.
- Must-have: Thorough understanding of digital design concepts and DV methodologies/tools.
- Preferred: Familiarity with LPDDR4/LPDDR5 protocols.
- Preferred: Knowledge of bus protocols such as AHB/AXI/ACE/ACE-Lite.
- Preferred: Comfortable navigating large testbenches, checking builds, and adding targeted debug to failing tests.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience. (Source lists Bachelor's + experience, Master's, or PhD as acceptable educational backgrounds.)
