Industry Immersion Intern

Role Summary

Six-month on-site internship within Intel's Data Center Group (DCG) to provide hands-on exposure to product development and physical design workflows. The intern will work on projects to build technical skills in physical design, programming, and analytical problem solving while supporting team objectives.

Experience Level

Entry-level intern. This is a student internship (six-month duration). No specific years of professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

• Participate in hands-on projects that support product development and DCG objectives.
• Apply and expand knowledge in physical design and industry-standard design methodologies.
• Develop programming and scripting solutions to support design tasks and automation.
• Perform analysis and problem solving to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver assigned tasks.
• Learn Intel processes and tools relevant to the assigned workstream.

Requirements

Must-have and nice-to-have items:

• Must-have: Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (verbal and written).
• Must-have: Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Costa Rica.
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of VLSI concepts.
• Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Python, TCL).
• Ability to obtain required skills through a combination of coursework, internships, or relevant experience.

Education Requirements

Working towards a Bachelor's, Licenciate, or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
