Industrial Project Manager
Role Summary
Lead multi-disciplinary, multi-site industrial projects in semiconductor manufacturing. Own industrialization activities from NPI through volume ramp-up and entitlement, coordinating stakeholders across sites to deliver cost, capacity, yield and package solutions.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires over 7 years of semiconductor experience and at least 3 years leading industrial projects.
Responsibilities
Accountable for execution and delivery of industrial projects and program activities, including manufacturing transfers and process improvements.
- Lead industrialization during NPI from project initiation to entitlement and manage VRU and Safe Launch plans.
- Drive volume ramp-up after R-gate, ensuring customer deliveries, safe launch criteria, yield improvements and multi-site readiness.
- Manage multi-sourcing and fab transfer projects for diffusion, assembly and test.
- Lead industrial improvement and innovation projects (cost-down, waste reduction, capacity and yield improvement).
- Oversee product package derivative development projects.
- Review and manage manufacturing changes: qualification plans, waivers, risk assessments, non-conformances and 8D problem solving.
- Transfer product and production know-how to production sites and provide input to product line roadmaps and industrial strategy.
- Maintain and extend knowledge of industrial solutions via internal collaboration and external benchmarking.
Requirements
Key technical and leadership requirements (must-haves):
- More than 7 years' experience in the semiconductor industry with a technical background in product engineering, test engineering or diffusion/process integration.
- At least 3 years' experience leading industrial or comparable projects, including multi-disciplinary, multi-site and remote teams.
- Demonstrable experience in automotive environments and understanding of automotive requirements (e.g. ISO/TS 16949, AEC-Q100).
- Proven stakeholder management across Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics and Marketing.
- Experience with Business Creation and Management (BCaM) processes.
- Skilled in structured problem solving: 8D, Six Sigma (DMAIC), 5 Whys or similar techniques.
- Strong English communication skills (spoken and written); ability to influence and build relationships.
- Experience leading and motivating virtual, multi-cultural teams across regions; willingness to travel internationally (~5%).
- Experience handling qualification plans, risk assessments, non-conformances and incident leadership within an 8D framework.
Education Requirements
Master's or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (preferably Electronics). PMI or equivalent project management certification in recognized methodologies.
