Job Title
Industrial Project Manager
Role Summary
Lead multi-disciplinary, multi-site industrial projects in semiconductor manufacturing from NPI through entitlement and volume ramp-up. Own industrialization activities such as sourcing, front-end/back-end flow, package development, and ensure cost and capacity alignment across stakeholders and sites.
Typical focus areas include NPI industrialization, volume ramp-up (VRU), multi-sourcing transfers, manufacturing improvements, and product package derivative development.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 7+ years of semiconductor experience and at least 3 years leading industrial or comparable projects, including remote multi-site leadership.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning, executing, and monitoring industrial projects and ensuring successful product ramp to volume.
- Lead industrialization during NPI from Project Initiation to Entitlement and manage post-R-gate volume ramp-up activities.
- Develop and execute VRU plans, allocate resources and coordinate with NPI project managers for entitlement and safe launch.
- Manage multi-sourcing transfers for diffusion and back-end (assembly & test) process and site transfers.
- Drive manufacturing improvement and innovation projects: cost reduction, waste reduction, yield and capacity improvements.
- Lead incident resolution and structured problem solving (8D) and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Review and manage manufacturing changes: qualification plans, waivers, risk assessments, and non-conformances.
- Transfer product and production know-how to production sites and support cross-site ramp activities.
- Provide input to product-line roadmap and industrial strategy (processes, packages, capex, locations).
- Maintain and extend knowledge of industrial solutions through factory visits, peer contacts and external research.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills required for success.
- More than 7 years of semiconductor industry experience in technical, industrial-relevant roles (e.g. product engineering, test engineering, diffusion process integration).
- At least 3 years leading industrial or comparable projects in a semiconductor environment, including remote multi-disciplinary, multi-site teams.
- Demonstrable experience in automotive environments and familiarity with automotive quality requirements (e.g. ISO/TS 16949, AEC‑Q100).
- Proven stakeholder management across Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics and Marketing.
- Familiarity with Business Creation and Management (BCaM) processes.
- Skilled in problem-solving techniques: 8D, 6-sigma (DMAIC), 3x5 Why.
- Strong English communication skills, and ability to influence and build relationships.
- Experience leading and motivating virtual, multi-cultural, cross-functional teams across regions (Europe, Asia, USA).
- Willingness to travel internationally (~5%).
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline (preferably Electronics). PMI or equivalent project management certification in recognized methodologies is preferred.
