In-Vehicle Network System Engineer (f/m/d)

Role Summary

The Systems & Applications team in Product Line In-Vehicle Networking is hiring a systems engineer to define and evaluate next-generation CAN/LIN products and in-vehicle network solutions. The role sits in Hamburg and works cross-functionally with design, test, marketing and customers to derive requirements, run evaluations, and produce customer-facing documentation.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early-career β€” approximately 2+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver system-level input for CAN/LIN product definitions and perform hands-on evaluations.

  • Define and drive next-generation CAN/LIN product evaluations, including 48V robustness considerations.
  • Design and operate evaluation setups; perform and document robustness, bench, and network tests.
  • Analyze results and provide system-level recommendations to product and test teams.
  • Create customer-facing documentation: application notes, data sheets, and technical presentations.
  • Provide technical customer support and investigate field issues with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate across sites and cultures and contribute to functional group improvements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.

  • Proven system knowledge of CAN and LIN in-vehicle communication protocols and networks.
  • Practical experience with electrical measurement techniques and product evaluation.
  • Hands-on HW/SW/embedded systems and microcontroller experience.
  • Programming skills in Python, C, and/or C++ for test automation or analysis.
  • Experience interacting with customers on technical topics and producing technical documentation.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional, multi-site teams and communicate technical results clearly in English.
  • Security-conscious working style (role may involve security-related tasks and certifications).

Education Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Bachelor's level implied). The posting requests approximately 2+ years of relevant experience. Security certification requirements may apply depending on assignment.
