Job Title
IC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The IC Verification Engineer will design and implement scalable verification environments and test plans for block/core/SoC level verification. The role focuses on functional verification, coverage closure, regression debugging, and driving verification quality and efficiency.
Experience Level
Senior β experienced engineer. The posting indicates a senior role with roughly 10β12+ years of industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities and mentoring less-experienced engineers.
- Architect and develop scalable, reusable testbench environments using verification methodologies.
- Define and drive test plans for block/core/SoC features and write functional coverage.
- Develop pseudo-random tests to achieve full functional coverage and close verification cycles.
- Debug regression failures, analyze coverage gaps, and improve tests to address gaps.
- Document verification strategy, including test plans and environment design; lead reviews with design/architecture teams.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers; collaborate with cross-functional team members.
- Drive verification quality and efficiency improvements across projects.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; items listed as "plus" are desirable but not mandatory.
- Proficient in SystemVerilog and verification methodologies such as UVM/VMM.
- Extensive experience developing complex verification environments, functional coverage, and pseudo-random testing.
- Experience across the full ASIC cycle from architecture to tapeout with strong verification focus.
- Strong debug skills for analyzing regression failures and understanding complex designs.
- Good understanding of complex protocols (e.g., PCI Express or other multi-layered protocols).
- Experience mentoring and working with teams to deliver verification goals.
Nice-to-have:
- Specific PCIe protocol verification experience.
- Scripting skills (Python or Perl) and familiarity with Makefiles.
- Experience verifying other protocols such as AXI.
Education Requirements
