IC Validation Engineer Intern

Role Summary

Join the ODSP validation team within Marvell's Connectivity Business Group to validate high-performance connectivity IC prototypes. The role supports hardware bring-up, lab testing, and cross-functional collaboration with analog, firmware, software and PCB teams.

Work focuses on developing test setups, running measurements, debugging anomalies, and documenting results to support product tape-out and prototype qualification.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Suitable for students or recent graduates seeking hands-on IC validation experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on lab validation, data analysis, and cross-functional debugging.

  • Prepare and calibrate test benches and measurement equipment for RF and high-speed validation.
  • Run automated and manual tests, collect overnight data, and summarize results in reports.
  • Debug unexpected measurement results, iterate with mentors and designers to identify root causes.
  • Develop and maintain test scripts and device drivers (Python, C/C++).
  • Support hardware bring-up, prototype assembly activities, and PCB debug.
  • Use lab instruments such as network analyzers, oscilloscopes, probe stations, and BERTs.
  • Present findings to the team and contribute to tape-out readiness activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional attributes, followed by nice-to-have experience.

  • Must-have: practical knowledge of Python and C/C++ for test automation and data analysis.
  • Must-have: strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Must-have: proficiency in English (written and verbal).
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with analog and digital design flows.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, BERTs, network analyzers, probe stations.
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with Windows and Unix environments, Cadence tools, and instrumentation scripting.
